Lumberjack Film began because I wore too many red checkered shirts in an industry that loves a nickname – probably something from my country kid past.
With more than 13 years experience across Broadcast Television, Network Seven (CH7), Sky News and the NSW Police Force’s Media Unit covering both international and local events. I have had the privilege of seeing the world through the lens.
Everything from floods, cyclones, earthquakes, bushfires, one overturned Italian cruise ship and a few Olympics – to in-depth long-form investigative pieces, undercover work, commercials, news, reality tv, suburban tales and some really stunning travel programs.
What struck me during my career while working with people from diverse backgrounds, was that small business and individuals didn’t have access to, or have the knowledge of people with excellent production skills, giving reasonable, competitive prices. That’s what we want to change.
Good pictures still prevail even under extraordinary pressure, in the most hostile of situations, with a genuine nature and a smile.
So much of what you produce is a result of the person you are first and the quality of pictures you take. It’s a winning combination. No matter how big or small the job is, heart and soul is always a crucial element.
Whatever the budget, size or time limit you have to work with. Whoever you are, you deserve broadcast quality at a good price.
